Pull up a goat and make a name for yourself[edit]
I seem to have become the site's resident Rockwell-watcher. We need to expand the club. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 02:37, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- Now where did I write down that old password? :~ 184.19.143.18 (talk) 02:40, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- I kind of like Rockwell, especially the anti-war and anti-authoritarian stuff. Can't stand Hoppe or Gary North though, and Stephen Kinsella also rubs me the wrong way. 184.19.143.18 (talk) 03:01, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- Eh, I do agree with a lot of their anti-war, anti-drug war, police ridiculousness stories, but they even manage to take the anti-war thing into nutty territory with their occasional Pearl Harbor screed that sounds like it was written by an American Firster from the 1940s. Kinsella has also become something of a promoter of pseudophysics as well, mostly anti-relativity nonsense lifted from Petr Beckmann. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 03:07, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, Petr Beckmann. Another one who rubs me the wrong way, or worse if as I assume this drivel was his writing. 184.19.143.18 (talk) 03:17, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- So what's the story? Libertarian defector or just an avid crank-watcher? Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 03:25, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
- Some of both. My crank-watching runs more toward self-help and televangelists. I'm a "libertarian" whose first instinct when someone says they are a libertarian is to run, don't walk in the other direction and keep a very jaundiced eye until I figure out where they're coming from. Too many encounters with crackpots and unreconstructed reactionaries claiming the label to leave anything but a bad taste in my mouth anymore. Wish we could have Karl Hess and Ed Clark back. 184.19.143.18 (talk) 03:55, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
