Unabated?[edit]

"the filmmakers are unabated by the liberal - conservative divide" We need a better word than "unabated" I think. Unimpressed? Unconcerned with? Ignore? Not sure what works best (or I'd have changed it). ħumanUser talk:Human 18:17, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Unfazed? SJ Debaser 18:27, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Without a bit more information about the content, I'm more comfortable with some sort of "..the filmmakers claim to be uninvolved with..." wording. After all, this could easily just be figleafing for teabagging talking points as much as anything. --Kels (talk) 18:32, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
unlike liberals and conservatives, the filmmakers can't think about the number of children US murders every day without crying --Swedmann (talk) 18:35, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
"...claim to be unfazed..."? "...claim to be above..."? ħumanUser talk:Human 18:37, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
I like "...claim to be above...". --Kels (talk) 18:40, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
I've changed the wording - "Interestingly, the filmmakers claim to be unaffiliated with either liberal or conservative ideology, instead condemning both sides of the political spectrum, while featuring interviews with both liberal and conservative Americans." Please change accordingly. SJ Debaser 18:41, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

2 things[edit]

1) how does one run the DVD player after The End (or after the generator runs out of gas)?

2) Won't The Govmint just censor the DVDs with some sort of seekrit disabling code?

-- Asclepius staff.png-PalMD --Do I look like I care? 18:39, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

The answers are on the DVDs. Oh, wait... -- (talk) 19:09, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey Palm! Hi!--BobIt's cold! 18:53, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
In regards to your first point, PalMD, it says that the DVDs tell you how to get "off the grid". In the past year I have met at least two Americans (not living in the USA myself) who hade either gone, or were in the process of going off-grid. Content?[edit]

The article so far consists pretty much entirely of just what the website promoting the DVD says, without any indication if this is just window dressing for an economic version of Expelled or something honestly non-partisan. I would say that citing their own promotional material would be of questionable reliability, especially for this sort of "OH MY GOD WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE" stuff. --Kels (talk) 18:47, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

I honestly don't know why this article even exists. It doesn't seem like any of the contributors have done anything more than skim the website without viewing the actual content. I imagine it was stumbled upon by someone looking to dig up something else to poke fun at Icke/Jones (always fun, don't get me wrong), and then they just kinda ran with it without checking to see if it was in the "shape shifting lizard man" camp or not. From watching the promo vid on the website it doesn't seem to be the case (no lizard people I can see) but at 9 hours who knows what they have in there? Certainly not the authors of this page, though (which I suppose is my whole point) — Unsigned, by: 70.210.194.28 / talk / contribs (signed by bot) 10:33, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

unfortunate wording[edit]

I think the sentence:

"The DVD consists of "an 8 hour plus, 9 DVD box set survival guide," poised to protect the average white American from the tyrannies of socialism, Obama, terrorism, gays, the British, and everything else the United States of America stands for."

doesn't really say what the author (and presumably the film makes) want to say. Is it an an American attempt at irony?--BobIt's cold! 18:51, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

I've changed it, as it wasn't that good and a bit too slanderous. SJ Debaser 18:06, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Beware the British are coming - warm tea, cricket, a dead parrot, Morris dancers, an assortment of royals to suit all tastes, the Beetles, David Bowie, English written propely, Wallace and Gromit, Cheddar Cheese, The Mousetrap, Sherlock Holmes, The Shard, a consignment of Daleks and what else? 171.33.222.26 (talk) 15:42, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

We could really use a separate article on these guys. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 13:47, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
